The Wicked Witch Of The West - The Classic Wicked Witch
" I’ll Get You My Pretty, and Your Little Dog Too!!”
Being the Wicked Witch is so much fun! It’s scary but also a good
classic that lots of people remember from childhood. When I was a kid my
mom dressed me in this costume and I still have photos of it. If you
enjoy Halloween and enjoy the movie “The Wizard of Oz” you will love
Everyone at the costume party will be green with envy! Ha Ha, had to say
that. But, you will have them all convinced that you are the real Wicked Witch.
This costume is pretty impressive and looks like the gown in the
original movie. It comes with a full length gown, a petticoat, a witch’s
hat and a belt. It even comes with stick on nails.
Because this item is special order, you can request it even if it is out of stock.
Wicked Witch Makeup
How the makeup was done on the original movie set.
Some interesting Oz movie trivia for you… Did you know that the
actress in the movie who played the Witch had a false nose and chin
attached before the makeup artist applied the green make-up? The makeup
they used on her was a copper and aluminum-based makeup, and back in
1939 they didn’t know that it could cause severe allergic reactions.
That is exactly what happened to the actress who played the Wicked
Witch. So to continue on with filming they had to change the makeup.
Some of the extras on Oz had to wear fake ears, noses, etc. and since
makeup artists on the set had been trained only in one area of
prosthetics the extras had to form an assembly line and the actors had
to go from one station to the next for makeup application every morning.
